ARCHIVES

The Society's research archives house manuscripts, account books, broadsides, family papers, maps, printed materials, photographs and ephemera relating to Simsbury; its people and history. Vertical subject including house histories and genealogical files are maintained. Planning a visit soon, click here.

For those interested in family history and genealogy the archival staff can provide guidance while working within the Society's collections as well as suggest other repositories in the area and on-line links.

While no materials circulate, researchers and visitors alike are able to view all but the most fragile materials. The archival staff can arrange for photocopies and copy photographs for a fee. Both mail and e-mail inquiries are accepted. Use of the research archives is included in the admission fee. Members are admitted without charge.

Permissions to publish are arranged through the Executive Director. The research archives continue to collect material relating to Simsbury and its people. Prospective donations and gifts to the institution should be discussed with the Executive Director.
